Letterpress Card: Tanuki and Ginkgo

Doh!  I didn't know that ginkgo was spelled this way.

This design was painted with Chinese paintbrushes and black calligraphy ink on thick, premium raw rice paper.  It was then made into two letterpress plates (one plate for each color).  Each card was individually pressed twice (one pressing for each color) on a vintage flatbed cylinder Vandercook press, onto soft cotton paper.

Please note that the card colors may differ slightly from the image pictured here, due to slight hue variations during the letterpress printing process.

Blank inside.

Card details:
• 4-Bar / A1 folded card (3.5 x 4.875 inches)
• Paired with gold envelope
• Cello sleeved for protection
• Printed on 118 lb. tree-free cotton paper made from 100% recovered cotton from the textile industry (that would otherwise go to a landfill)
• Printed with a hand-cranked vintage letterpress in our Los Angeles studio
