FAQ

Hello, and welcome!
Fomato is a greeting card line inspired by Taiwanese and Japanese stationery.

A portion of proceeds are donated to Ashoka Changemakers, a global network of social entrepreneurs, innovators and activists creating positive changes in their communities.

Q:  How are orders shipped?
A:  Upon checkout, domestic buyers will have the option of picking UPS Ground, USPS Priority Mail or USPS Ground Advantage.  International orders ship via USPS International shipping.

Q:  Do you ship to Europe?

A:  We no longer ship to Europe via this site - our apologies for this inconvenience!

If you are in Europe and would like to place an order, you can do so on our Faire Fomato Shop.

Q:  What is Faire?

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace that offers Net 60 terms to retailers.

If you are new to Faire, you are eligible to receive a $100 discount and free returns on your first order, plus free shipping from Fomato for one year.

If you are interested in using the discount, and shopping via Faire, please visit this link:

Fomato.Faire.com

Please feel free to contact us regarding Faire - we'll answer any questions you might have.

Q:  How long will it take to receive my order?
A:  Your order will be processed and shipped out within 4 - 7 business days.  UPS Ground takes between 1 - 5 business days (depending on how close you are to Los Angeles), and the USPS shipping times to other countries vary quite a bit.  We hope you receive your order in a timely fashion - please feel free to contact us if you have not.  We can look up your tracking information and update you on the delivery status.

Q:  Do you have a catalog?

A:  Yes, we have a PDF catalog.  If you would like us to send you one, please contact us and we'd be glad to do so.

Q:  What are your card sizes?
A:  There are 3 types of cards:  Watercolor Cards, Letterpress Cards and Unique (Random Topic) Cards.

Watercolor Cards
4-Bar size (3.5 x 4.875 inches)
& A2 size (4.25 x 5.5 inches)
Watercolor cards are sleeved.

Letterpress Cards
4-Bar size (3.5 x 4.875 inches)
Letterpress cards are sleeved.

Unique (Random Topic) Cards
A7 size (5 x 7 inches)
Most of these cards are unsleeved.  This is because the card sleeve, which is similar to a book dust jacket, holds an envelope that would hide the birthday greeting on the back of the card (thus possibly confusing the reader).

Buyers occasionally prefer to have the large cards sleeved anyway, to reduce browsing wear and tear.  If this is your preference, please let us know, and we'd be happy to sleeve the cards for you at no extra cost.

There are two additional stationery items:

Flat Notes (Large)
A7 flat note (5 x 7 inches); no fold
2 notes & 2 envelopes in each sleeve

Flat Notes (Mini)
Coin envelope-sized flat note (2.25 x 3.5 inches); no fold
2 notes & 2 envelopes in each sleeve

Q:  What paper stocks and inks do you use?
A:  Letterpress cards are individually pressed on thick cotton paper, with natural rubber inks.  Watercolor cards and Unique / Random Topic cards are professionally printed with vegetable-based inks on 100 lb. and 120 lb. FSC-certified, uncoated, recycled card stock.

Q:  What envelopes are paired with the cards?
The cards are paired with a variety of envelopes - kraft, white, bronze, silver, gold, aqua, teal, cobalt, etc.  We aim to pick the envelope color that suits the image best.

Q:  I am a retailer based in California.  Do I need to fill out and send you a resale form?
A:  Yes, please do!  We will send you 6 free cards if you fill out and send this form to:

fomatopolis
1530 Glen Aylsa Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90041

Q:  What is red and invisible?
A:  No tomato!

My friend Calvin invented this joke, and I seem to be the only one who likes it.  But I like it enough for everyone else.
